Upon graduating from Daemen College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 1998, Michele Fisher joined the trauma neurosurgery team at ECMC and Buffalo Medical Group.  She left to join a neurology and pain management practice which was office-based and practiced there for nine years.  During her time there she completed a number of research studies in the area of migraine headaches, adjuvant therapies for pain and multiple sclerosis.  She presented two studies at the International Headache Society meeting in 2004 and in 2005 winning honorable mention awards for both study presentations.

She is an adjunct faculty member in the Physician Assistant department of both Daemen College and  D’Youville College, lecturing in the areas of Neurology, Pain Management and Pharmacology.

Prior to attending PA school, Michele attended the State University of New York at Buffalo and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and her Masters of Science in Experimental Pathology from the Natural Sciences Department of Roswell Park Cancer Institute.  She served on a research team in the Lymphoma Division during her Masters program.  Her work in JAK/STAT proteins has been published and the subject of many subsequent research studies for lymphoma and leukemia.

Most recently she worked as a physician assistant in Vascular Interventional Radiology at Buffalo General Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital for a private practice from 2008 until joining Brain and Spine Center.  During her total 15 years as a physician assistant, she has gained extensive experience in interventional pain management, intrathecal pump management, surgery, research and patient care.
